The new console is to be built around a x86 CPU from AMD. The new console will also feature graphics powered by a GPU from AMD. The Playstation 4 appears to be a high end PC dressed up as a console. Sony say that the PC based console is "supercharged" and will make it easier for programmers to produce content.
A new feature that allows gamers to share recorded clips of their gameplay to social networks was also announced. Everything is becoming social it would seem. I have to admit the gameplay videos that swamp Youtube are more than a little tedious. Obviously some viewers must enjoy them but I am not amongst them. The Playstation 4 will also feature a new dual shock controller with upgraded features such as a share button (for the social sharing), and a light bar that allows a camera to track its movements.
Also announced is a new game title from Gungie called Destiny. Other titles being developed for the Playstation 4 include Killzone Shadowfall (first person shooter), Driveclub, Infamous and Diablo 3. Ubisoft is also said to be working on a new title called Watchdogs, where a hacker takes control of a smart city's systems.
